What is the difference between a study association and a student association?

A study association is an association for students who follow a specific study programme, run by students of that study programme. They organise all sorts of activities that are generally related to the study programme in question.

A student association is independent of any study programme and can vary from social association to music association, and from music association to religious association. All tastes are catered for. Student associations form a social basis for students. They offer students from different disciplines the opportunity to get to know one another and make friends for life. Most student associations organise activities at least once a week.
