What is an exchange programme?
An exchange programme involves an agreement between two universities to exchange students. The advantage of an exchange programme is that you do not have to pay tuition fees at your host institution, as you are already paying tuition fees to Leiden University. Also, if you gain advance approval from your study programme, the credits you earn abroad can be counted towards your studies at Leiden University.
Leiden has many exchange agreements within Europe (Erasmus Agreements) and beyond (bilateral agreements). In addition, Leiden University participates in the International Student Exchange Programme (ISEP), an interesting programme for students who want to study in the US, or in a part of the world in which Leiden University does not have bilateral partnerships.
