If I fail to meet the BSA norm, will I have to leave Leiden?
If you are issued with negative binding study advice at the end of your first year you will have to stop the study programme in which you are enrolled. You can however start another programme at Leiden University. If you were unable to meet the norm due to exceptional circumstances you may be able to avoid a negative binding advice by reporting your circumstances to the Study Adviser and ultimately to the University’s BSA committee. Your circumstances may provide an explanation for why you failed to meet the norm, in which case the Board of Examiners will take this fact into account.
